Mr. Atiba Phillips appointed Chairman of iGovTT!


Founder and Managing Director of INFOCOMM Technologies (ICT) Ltd. Mr. Atiba Phillips was appointed Chairman of iGovTT on Friday 14th January 2011. At the official swearing-in ceremony held at the Port-of-Spain National Library, Mr. Phillips and the new 12-member Board of Directors were entrusted with the responsibility of steering the course of Government’s information and communication technology (ICT) plans making access to state services efficient and available all within Trinidad and Tobago.

‘Streamlining communications and reducing work duplication within the (government) ministries was high on the agenda’. Mr. Phillips, a career IT specialist also said ‘From a business side the ICT sector has a great potential to contribute more to the GDP and to economic diversification’. Mr. Phillips plans on working closely with the private sector to ensure greater opportunities within the sector.
